Get Catty: Lauren's Signature Winged Eye Liner

"When it comes to makeup, less is more. I always think that before getting started on my face (thanks to my Mom ). So it’s no surprise my all-time favorite beauty look is a fresh face accented with classic black winged eyeliner."
Here are a few tips from Lauren:
  • Using a black liquid liner with a very thin brush (I prefer mark Get in Line liquid liner) gently drag the brush along your lashline starting from the top inner corner of your eye toward the outer corner of your eye.
  • Be sure to follow the natural shape of your eye. When you try to change the shape of your eyes with liner, it actually makes them look smaller. Very counterproductive.
  • The trick is to line as close to the lashes as humanly possible.
  • The firmer you press the brush, the thicker the line will be.
  • Use a hands-free mirror and keep your eye relaxed and slightly open as you line.
  • This is very important: Once you finish lining your eye, do not blink for at least 10-15 seconds to allow the liner to dry.
  • After you have lined both eyes, be sure to compare the liner on each eye. Are they even? If not, simply take a pointed q-tip and lightly drag the line along the eye to make it symmetrical to the other eye.

Paper Crown Holiday 2011 Lookbook!

Lauren may have stepped out of the reality TV spotlight, but that doesn't mean she's any less busy. Since she escaped from The Hills, she's become a one-woman empire, and although she has a lucrative book deal and a new beauty website to tend to, it's clear that her passion lies in fashion design.

The lookbook for her second collection for the contemporary line Paper Crown was just released, and it truly has something for everyone. Preppy customers will love the florals, smart skirts and silk separates that will easily take you from a garden party to a polo match, and party girls will certainly fall for the shiny velvet pieces and body-con black dresses.

What's Inside Lauren Conrad's Makeup Bag?

Lauren Conrad lets us snoop through the contents of her makeup bag and shows us that she’s one of those women who has it all figured out.
Here, we feature her well-rounded take on beauty, showcasing both classic favorites and new products that Conrad loves. With a mix of low-end (CoverGirl eyeliner) and high-end (Chanel Espiegle blush), she favors light, summery makeup that blends good coverage with bronze, beachy favorites. You have to respect a girl who travels with her own sets of individual lashes.

Lauren's Book Club: The First Read!

"You know a book is going to be a fun read when the blurbs on the back are simply hilarious…“Totally worth it.” – Trees

“I hope that’s not really the cover. That’s really going to hurt sales.” – Don Fey, Father of Tina Fey

These quotes are from the back cover of Tina Fey’s autobiography, Bossypants . Her book is one of the biggest books in the country right now and I’ve been looking forward to reading it for quite a while. And so, for our first Book Club  we will be reading Bossypants by Tina Fey!

I’ve been big fan of Tina Fey for years. I love her show 30 Rock and always find her ridiculously funny. And don’t even get me started her old SNL Weekend Updates…

I’m really looking forward to reading this book together with all of you! I will do a post in a couple of weeks with some reading questions and will set the date for our first online book chat too.

If you are going to join the Book Club and read Bossypants with me, let me know in the comments below!

XO Lauren

P.S. You can order your copy of Bossypants here.

P.P.S. If you are under 18, please check with your parents to make sure you can read this book."

Which one of you will be reading it with her? :-)

Ooh La La: A Hint of Vintage

-1″ barrell curling iron
-large setting clips
-flat/paddle brush-light
-medium hold hairspray

1) Find your side part. Either side will do.
2, 3, 4 & 5) You’re going to curl ALL of your hair inward toward your face (as Lauren does above) and clip the curls in place with large setting clips. Mist all over with a light-medium holding hairspray. Let them cool while you put on your makeup. Multi-Tasking!! Give it atleast 15 minutes to cool and set.
6) Gently pull the clips out and let your hair fall.
7) Using a flat or paddle brush, brush hair back and away from your face and then let it spring back. The wave pattern will automatically start to appear. Keep brushing gently until it shows up. We like to help it along by molding the waves where you want them by hand and then adding one more veil of hairspray.
